Hello to the people reading this! My name is Violet Harper and I am a student athlete at DePaul University studying Public Relations and Advertising and Marketing. I am part of the Track and Field and Cross Country programs here at DePaul University which has helped to provide m...e with an amazing support network via coaches, teammates, trainers & other staff members within the facilities. Although, this isn’t the only way DePaul provides me with a sense of community. With a student body of around 22,000 it isn’t as overwhelming to put yourself out there and find your niche community where you feel you best fit. I have found my friends through the simplest of ways whether it was the quart yard walks in the early days of fall or eating at the dining hall in the student center Weber’s most of the student mingling happens. Not only this, DePaul offers some of the best Academic programs such as the theatre and music school but also has a plethora of other majors to explore. Here at DePaul, students can easily find where they feel seen, heard, and purposeful while also getting a premium education in one of the best cities in the world. Working as a Bumble Marketing Manager I have been able to get involved in a positive way on campus building lasting connections with like minded people and helping others to meet each-other as well. DePaul offers a dual split campus, one being located in Lincoln Park which is more residential and tight knit and the other Campus is located in the downtown Loop area! Since I am in the school of communication but study marketing as part of my education, I have classes in both the LP campus and the Loop campus. I really enjoy having the change of scenery in making my way to the downtown areas to see all that Chicago has to offer. Here at DePaul, we are founded on a Vincent mission that all people matter and that this mission is reflected in the students agency to promote their dignity, especially marginalized communities through service faith and justice. There are so many ways to get involved in the social life here at DePaul. With over 350 different clubs and organizations to choose from — you are bound to find the right fit.
