Hey everyone! My name is Shannon Sykes, and I am currently a sophomore at the University of Florida in the College of Public Health and Health Professions. I am majoring in health science on the pre-med track and minoring in disabilities in society. I joined a sorority when I fi...rst moved into college to meet new people and make friends since I wasn’t close with many people from high school who were coming to UF. Aside from the sorority, I have been involved in benchmark and clinical research on campus. I also have volunteered at the local hospital, and currently volunteer at a clinic that provides free healthcare to the underserved community of Gainesville, FL. I have been enjoying my time at the University of Florida so far and can’t wait to see what else there is to come. In the Fall semester, you can see thousands of students at our football games almost every weekend, and now in the Spring I enjoy watching the gymnastics meets with my friends!
