I am a recent graduate of Columbia University, where I was an engineering student and majored in Applied Mathematics in addition to studying history. I am now working in education as well as continuing some of the mentorship work I did in undergrad. While at Columbia I was in se...veral mentorship programs as well as a member of our school’s Native American Council, where I helped plan different community events. I also worked several jobs in college to help afford the different costs of living in New York, healthcare expenditures and other various expenses of undergrad. Working helped me learn a lot about the different ways I can include helping my community in my work and to also value my study and free time. I also participated in different biological research projects, specifically doing quantitative analysis and mathematical modeling of different cellular pathways and circuits. I know that navigating the college application process as well as the different adjustments to adulthood and figuring out a career can be difficult, and I would love to share more about what has worked for me and what I recommend! I worked as a mentor and advisor for different freshmen and high schoolers in their time transitioning to college, so I still remember a good bit about the different things wanted in a college application.
