I am a junior Politics student at Pomona College. As a first-generation low-income student, I knew I wanted to go to a small liberal arts college so I could receive as much 1-on-1 support as I could from my peers, professors, and the administration. Pomona stood out from other s...mall schools for being the most diverse college in the U.S. with 50% of its student body being students of color, and a similarly impressive percentage of first-generation and/or low-income students at 18%. I am offering a first-hand account of the ins-and-outs of being a Pomona student, whether it be about residential life, our interdisciplinary curriculum, or our social scene. During my time at Pomona, I’ve been apart of student government, worked for the Admissions Office, interned for the on-campus museum, been involved with the Sustainability Office, captained the club Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team, and more.
