University of Maryland

I am a sophomore Animal Science student with a minor in Spanish at the University of Maryland, College Park. Coming from a Terp family, I knew I wanted the experience of attending a large university with an endless selection of opportunities and school spirit. I am offering a 36...0 view of what it's like to be a University of Maryland student, while providing perspective on everything from majors and dorms to campus organizations and class selection. Being from Virginia, I can also attest to the experience of attending UMD as an out of state student. During my time at UMD so far, I have held leadership positions in my professional sorority, worked at our recreational center pool, participated in club sports, and I am currently a resident assistant in one of our freshman dorms. Connections I have made through the animal science program, the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the university overall have helped me achieve my professional and academic goals geared towards a career in animal welfare. Whatever your interests are going into college, I understand how stressful the application and decision processes can be, so I would love to provide insight and clarity about why I chose to become a Terp!
