Alyssa Gialamas

Athlete | Olympian

From Oaklawn, Illinois, inspirational swimmer Alyssa Gialamas is a Paralympian who, as a 21x American record holder, two-time Paralympian in the London 2012 Games, and the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games has participated in multiple events including: the 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle,... 200m Freestyle, and 50m Backstroke, earning herself a Bronze Medal. Gialamas was encouraged to try swimming by her coach Glen O'Sullivan, and she quickly found that she felt free in the water because she did not have to wear braces and was not sitting in a chair. She was born with arthrogryposis, which affects the use of joints and muscles, but that has not stopped her. Come have a live one-to-one with Alyssa to learn more about her astounding career as a swimmer, and her astounding accomplishments both in and out of the water. Show more
